Should I use the H200 NVL or an enterprise GPU for inference?

Use the H200 NVL when model size and memory bandwidth decide the job. Use an enterprise GPU such as the RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition when the model fits in 96 GB and the servers also run graphics or video.

The H200 NVL carries 141 GB of HBM3e memory at 4.8 TB/s. NVIDIA describes it as ideal for lower-power, air-cooled enterprise rack designs. The RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition carries 96 GB of GDDR7 with ECC at 1597 GB/s. NVIDIA positions it for AI as well as rendering, 3D graphics and video. For inference, memory capacity and bandwidth set how large a model one GPU can serve, which favors the H200 NVL on large models and long contexts.

When the H200 NVL fits

  • Models whose weights and working memory need more than 96 GB on one GPU
  • Bandwidth-bound serving, where 4.8 TB/s of memory bandwidth sets throughput
  • Serving across two or four GPUs joined by NVLink bridges
  • Servers from NVIDIA's MGX partners and NVIDIA-Certified Systems with up to eight GPUs

When an enterprise GPU fits

  • Models that fit in 96 GB, served one per GPU or split across up to four isolated instances
  • Servers that run inference beside rendering, 3D graphics or video work
  • Fleets that standardize one GPU across AI and visual computing

Power and cooling

Both cards draw up to 600 W, configurable, so rack power planning per card is similar. The H200 NVL is a dual-slot, air-cooled PCIe card. The RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition comes in a dual-slot air-cooled version and a single-slot liquid-cooled version.

How to buy it through Gatewell USA

Both cards are listed on AI Compute, the Gatewell USA section for datacenter compute, where each card's page shows its price and availability. The servers, memory and networking around them are quoted on the Enterprise quote form.
