A Catalyst 9300 comes with a perpetual Network Essentials or Network Advantage license. Cisco requires a Cisco DNA or Catalyst subscription with it at purchase, on a 3, 5 or 7 year term. The entitlements are deposited in your Smart Account. A Catalyst 9300 ordered for Meraki management, the models with an "-M" designation, takes a Meraki license instead.
Every current Meraki product requires valid licensing to operate. Meraki licenses are claimed into your own Meraki dashboard organization.
